Environmental raids in Osh revealed illegal hunting cases amounting to 68,000 soms in fines

In Osh, cases of illegal hunting have been recorded, with a total fine amounting to 68,000 soms<{short}>Turmush — During the festive New Year holidays, violations of hunting regulations were registered in Osh, for which poachers received fines totaling 68,000 soms, as reported by the press service of NABU Kyrgyzstan.

According to the information, employees of the southern branch of NABU Kyrgyzstan, together with representatives of state environmental authorities, conducted raids during the New Year holidays, resulting in fines imposed on individuals caught in illegal hunting and violations of hunting rules.

The first raids took place in the Kara-Suu and Aravan districts of the Osh region. In one of the inspected areas, located in the Kumböz ayil district of Papan, three individuals were detained for illegally keeping seven saiga birds in a cage. Each of them received a fine of 10,000 soms, totaling 30,000 soms. The birds were released into their natural habitat, as their condition did not raise concerns.

Subsequently, the raids covered the Kara-Suu, Alay, and Uzgen districts. During this process, three individuals were identified who violated amateur fishing rules. Each was fined 1,000 soms, totaling 3,000 soms. Additionally, within the framework of this raid, a citizen was found using traps to catch three chukars, for which he was fined 10,000 soms and ordered to pay 6,000 soms in damages.

In the Uzgen district, on the Jazy River, one fisherman was caught violating amateur fishing rules and was fined 1,000 soms. Also, on the same river, another individual was detained for using a prohibited tool—a synthetic net, known as a "screen"—for which he was fined 5,500 soms.

In the Ylai-Talaa area of the Kara-Kulja district, another violator of hunting rules was identified and fined 12,500 soms.

Thus, the total amount of fines imposed for violations of hunting rules and illegal hunting amounted to 68,000 soms.

These raids, aimed at protecting the environment, were conducted jointly with employees of the Osh regional office of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, as well as the department of specially protected natural areas and biodiversity.
