During a meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Gulsharkan Kultaeva expressed dissatisfaction with the participation of popular bloggers in state cultural events. She emphasized that the Ministry of Culture should pay more attention to professional ethics.
“The film industry requires high standards. We cannot invite only those bloggers who are popular on social media, solely due to financial support from sponsors. We need to put an end to such practices,” she stated.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Marat Tagaev announced plans to reconsider the format of significant cultural events.
The discussion also touched on the Bishkek International Film Festival, which will take place for the fourth time in 2026.
“As already noted, we will indeed invite those who have made a significant contribution to cinema. We will take into account the mistakes made and will limit manifestations aimed at hype and show,” the official added.
