In 2025, the State Film Center "Kyrgyzfilm" issued 362 distribution certificates, of which 146 are intended for domestic films. Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev presented a report on the achievements of national cinematography at a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Science, Education, Innovations, Information Technologies, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs.
According to information from the Ministry of Culture, as of today, the network of state cinemas consists of 38 institutions located in 7 regions and 17 districts of the country. In 2024-2025, 11 new cinemas were opened, and the commercial sector is also developing 18 modern cinemas.
Throughout the year, about 17,500 screenings were held, attended by more than 200,000 viewers, which contributed to a threefold increase in box office revenue, exceeding 21 million soms.
As stated in the Ministry of Culture's report, Kyrgyz films have achieved significant success on the international stage: "Black, Red, Yellow" won two Grand Prix awards at prestigious festivals, "The Fugitive" was awarded the Grand Prix and several special awards at events in Asia, Europe, America, and Africa, while "Age" received two international awards at the Busan Festival. Additionally, "Sniper" won the main prize at the III Bishkek International Festival and was awarded a FIPRESCI diploma.
