The budget for cinematography has nearly tripled, increasing the number of films and series being produced.
At a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Science, Education, Innovative Development, and Culture, Marat Tagaev, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy, presented a report on the achievements in the field of national cinematography for 2025.
He noted that the budget for the film industry increased from 345 million soms in 2024 to over 970 million soms in 2025. Throughout the year, the Department of Cinematography processed more than 4,000 documents, confirming the active work of the agency in supporting film production.
State support allowed for the production of 4 films and 1 series through the Department in 2025, as well as 48 films and 2 animation projects at the National Film Studio "Kyrgyzfilm". The creative association "Kyrgyzserial" released 7 series and 1 historical series.
Additionally, in 2025, the material and technical base was updated: 16 million soms were allocated for the major repair of film studios, and nearly 192 million soms for the purchase of specialized equipment. These measures significantly improved the conditions for creating and showcasing quality cinema.
