In anticipation of the 101st anniversary of the Kyrgyz police, Turmush, in collaboration with the Internal Affairs Department of the Osh region, has prepared an overview of the first leaders of the city police.

On November 1, 1924, in his report, the head of the administrative department of the Revolutionary Committee, Ibrai Toychynov, pointed out the necessity of establishing a police department in the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region and appointed Arkadiy Petrovich Arumov as its first leader. Since then, this date has been considered the day of the police's founding in Kyrgyzstan.

According to information from the Internal Affairs Department of the Osh region, one of the first police leaders in the region was Jamshitbek Karabekov, the grandson of Alymbek-Datka. Danil Vasilyevich Kordub, born in 1902 and who passed away in 1980, recalled how his family moved from Ukraine to Central Asia and then settled in Osh in 1914. After Danil was left an orphan, he was helped by Kadyrbek Kamchybekov, with whom he fought against the Basmachis as a machine gunner. Later, he served in the internal affairs bodies and the KGB of the USSR, and then retired.

In the last years of his life, Danil returned to the village of Vasilyevka in the Kharkov region, his father's homeland, where he shared memories of Jamshitbek Karabekov and Kadyrbek Kamchybekov, emphasizing their contributions to the fight against Basmachism.

After the October Revolution and the formation of the Turkestan ASSR, Jamshitbek and his great-grandson Karybek significantly contributed to strengthening post-revolutionary stability and creating the Kenesh rural council. In the 1920s and 1930s, they were highly respected among the population.

In 1918, Jamshitbek Karabekov, [the grandson of Alymbek-Datka from the son who was adopted by Kurmandjan-Datka], headed the administrative department of the Osh Revolutionary Committee and the People's Militia, while the first police chief in Alai was Kadyrbek Kamchybekov. He formed a people's militia unit from volunteer Kyrgyz, which fought against Basmachism in the Gulchin district, protecting important military communications connecting Pamir and China, and facing attacks from White Guards and Basmachis.

From the summer of 1931, when Basmachism was suppressed, power in the region was restored, and the population began to live a peaceful life. However, Jamshitbek and Kadyrbek soon became victims of political repression, and their lives ended tragically as they were considered descendants of the wealthy.

During the Soviet era, information about Karabekov and Kamchybekov remained in the shadows, and their contributions to the establishment of the Kyrgyz police were not properly recognized.
