President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov held a meeting on January 29 with permanent representatives of several countries to the United Nations.

During the conversation, key aspects of the international agenda were discussed, including the current geopolitical situation, security challenges, the fight against terrorism and extremism, climate change issues, as well as nuclear non-proliferation and the achievement of sustainable development goals.

The head of state emphasized Kyrgyzstan's unwavering commitment to the principles of the UN Charter and international law, noting the importance of peaceful conflict resolution. He stressed that in the context of growing global instability, dialogue, solidarity, and constructive cooperation are particularly relevant.

Sadyr Japarov expressed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to continue contributing to strengthening international security, supporting initiatives in the interest of sustainable development, and promoting an agenda that reflects the interests of small and developing states. He noted that the unification of the efforts of the global community is crucial for ensuring long-term stability and peace.

The permanent representatives of foreign states at the UN, in turn, noted Kyrgyzstan's achievements in socio-economic development, as well as its active role in international cooperation, peaceful resolution of regional conflicts, and development of dialogue.

Kyrgyzstan's position as a country that consistently represents the interests of small and developing states, advocating for a more inclusive and balanced world order, was particularly emphasized.

The parties expressed their readiness to cooperate in the protection and sustainable development of mountainous regions, as well as in the areas of trade, investment, tourism, and cultural exchanges.

The event was attended by permanent representatives from countries such as Andorra – Joan Forner Rovira, Chad – Abakar Mukhtar, Gabon – Gislain Ondias Okuma, Guatemala – Jose Alberto Bris Gutierrez, Guinea-Bissau – Samba Sane, Guyana – Caroline Rodrigues-Birkett, Namibia – Pendapala Andreas Naanda, Saint Kitts and Nevis – Mutrise Agatha Williams, and South Sudan – Cecilia Adut Manyok Adeng.
