Kyrgyzstan and Ghana have entered a new phase of bilateral cooperation. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, at a meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As the minister noted, the visit of the head of Ghana's foreign ministry, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, to Kyrgyzstan was a significant event that opens a new chapter in the relations between the two countries, which should serve as a foundation for strengthening both diplomatic and economic ties.

Kulubaev emphasized that in the context of growing international tensions, it is important to find new allies, deepen mutual understanding, and develop cooperation. He also noted that since 2021, Kyrgyzstan has been demonstrating positive economic trends, developing according to the "snow leopard leap" model. In turn, Ghana is successfully implementing an economic recovery program. The parties expressed their intention to develop cooperation in areas such as the agro-industrial sector, textiles, livestock, education, information technology, and mining.

During the meeting, memorandums of understanding were signed, and an agreement was reached to launch a full-fledged diplomatic dialogue. Kulubaev added that in the future, political consultations and meetings between the foreign ministries of the two countries will be held regularly. Additionally, an agreement was signed to abolish visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports, which will simplify official contacts and strengthen practical cooperation, as well as enhance the prestige of the passports of both countries.

Jeenbek Kulubaev also pointed out the opportunities for joint work at international forums such as the UN and the African Union. Kyrgyzstan has observer status in the African Union, and in 2027, Ghana will chair this organization.

The minister noted that cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Ghana has deep roots, dating back to the times of the Soviet Union when Kyrgyz universities trained students from Africa in the fields of aviation, engineering, and medicine. In modern times, Ghanaian football players actively participate in the sports life of Kyrgyzstan, which also contributes to the development of local football standards.

“Ultimately, Kyrgyzstan finds a reliable partner in Africa, and Ghana finds a true friend in Central Asia, located in the heart of Eurasia. This visit will be an important step in strengthening Kyrgyz-Ghanaian cooperation and bringing the cultures and traditions of our peoples closer together,” concluded the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
