Since the beginning of 2023, 188,740 doses of the hepatitis B vaccine have been administered in the Jalal-Abad region, as reported by the regional coordinator of the Ministry of Health, Ömürbek Mahmadjunus uulu.

Currently, the "Bevac" vaccine is being used. As the coordinator noted, a large-scale vaccination campaign has started in the country, aimed at stopping the spread of hepatitis B. The main focus is on citizens aged 25 to 65, with priority given to the most vulnerable groups of the population.

These include healthcare workers, individuals who have come into contact with hepatitis B patients, beauty salon employees (including hairdressers and manicurists), as well as those living with HIV/AIDS, citizens with chronic illnesses and disabilities, individuals in closed institutions, and military personnel.

According to the coordinator's data, 447,939 people in the Jalal-Abad region are eligible for vaccination, of which 36,928 residents have been vaccinated to date. "There are about 30,000 doses of the vaccine available in medical institutions in the region, and an additional 10,000 doses have arrived at the warehouse of the regional Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance. Medical workers continue to carry out explanatory work and conduct vaccinations," added Mahmadjunus uulu.

At the moment, 5,721 people suffering from various forms of hepatitis, including B, C, and delta forms, are under medical supervision.
