At a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development, Deputy Ilimbek Kubanychbekov pointed out that the same medication can have different prices in various pharmacy chains. He believes that the State Antimonopoly Agency should take responsibility for regulating drug prices.

According to Kubanychbekov, it is important to establish a uniform price for medications in pharmacies, as they enter the country at the same cost and are exempt from taxes upon import.

The Director of the State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation, Zhenaly Orozbaev, noted that there is a list of essential medicines. In case of complaints about price increases, the Antimonopoly Service, together with the Department of Medicines, conducts inspections and raids on pharmacy establishments.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Benazir Nurlanova added that drug prices are regulated by an order from the Ministry of Economy, and the Antimonopoly Service can intervene upon discovering instances of price violations.
