Members of the Parliament met with a representative of the World Health Organization
Participants in the event included Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Zhyldyz Taalaibek kyzy, as well as deputies Gulsharkan Kultaeva, Gulnara Akimbaeva, Nilufer Alimjanova, Zhyldyz Egenberdieva, and Deputy Chair of the Council, Deputy Erkeaiym Seitkazieva.
According to the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh, the discussion focused on issues of cooperation in the field of protecting the rights of women and children, gender equality, as well as interaction with international partners to implement initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the population.
“We value our partnership with the World Health Organization. The expertise and international experience of WHO are vital resources for improving health policy, preventing violence, supporting vulnerable groups, and achieving gender equality,” noted Taalaibek kyzy.
She also spoke about the work of the Council for the Protection of the Rights of Women, Children, and Gender Equality, which operates under the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh.
“This Council serves as a permanent advisory body established to support the development and implementation of state policy aimed at protecting the rights and legitimate interests of women and children, as well as eradicating all forms of discrimination and violence based on gender to achieve equality in all areas of life,” she added.
Speaking about future plans for 2026-2027, the Deputy Speaker emphasized that the Council intends to pay special attention not only to protection against discrimination but also to key aspects of strengthening the health of the nation.
Erkeaiym Seitkazieva, Deputy Chair of the Council, outlined the priority areas of cooperation between the Jogorku Kenesh and the World Health Organization.
Livio Vedrasco expressed readiness to continue joint work and develop new initiatives.
