This year, the capital has 668 kindergartens operating, where 135,582 children are being educated. Currently, 412,273 students are enrolled in 326 general education institutions.
The ongoing construction works aim to improve the quality and accessibility of preschool education, create comfortable conditions for children, optimize working conditions for teachers and staff, and increase the accessibility of educational institutions in the serviced areas.
The Department of Education of the capital has launched 139 projects this year, including 43 schools, 67 kindergartens, and 22 integrated complexes of primary schools and kindergartens.
These initiatives align with national priorities reflected in the Medium-Term Education Development Plan for 2021–2030, which emphasizes equal access to quality education and the creation of an inclusive, modern educational environment.
According to information from the Ulaanbaatar governor's administration, the construction of educational institutions is being carried out within this policy with funding from state, capital, and district budgets, as well as through foreign loans and international assistance.
In 2025, it is planned to open 12 secondary schools designed for 8,080 students, as well as 24 kindergartens that can accommodate 3,930 children, and 11 integrated complexes of primary schools and kindergartens for 3,080 places.
