In Kyrgyzstan, an initiative for the construction of four-story schools, proposed by the Ministry of Health, is being considered. The corresponding draft government resolution is currently in the stage of public discussion.

The ministry emphasized that the transition to a 12-year school education system leads to a decrease in the number of preparatory groups in kindergartens and an increase in the number of children entering the first grade. This requires adaptation of the infrastructure of educational institutions, including the improvement of the material and technical base and equipping them with necessary educational materials and equipment.

The ministry proposes to impose a ban on the placement of facilities selling or distributing food products within a radius of 100 meters from the school premises to protect children's health.

In densely populated areas and places with limited space, it is proposed to allow the construction of four-story primary schools. However, the fourth floor should not contain classrooms; it will be allocated for service, utility, recreational, and additional rooms.

Cafeterias, libraries, as well as sports, dance, and assembly halls may be located on the basement floors, provided that necessary lighting, comfortable temperature, and effective ventilation are ensured, as well as compliance with sanitary standards.

It is worth noting that according to current legislation in Kyrgyzstan, only three-story schools are permitted to be built.
