According to information provided by Kazinform with a reference to Bild, the incident occurred at an unprotected beach in the Crowdy Bay National Park, located approximately 360 km north of Sydney. Emergency services were called to the scene on the morning of November 27 after a shark attacked two people.

Witnesses assisted the victims until medical personnel arrived, but for 25-year-old Livy M., help came too late — she died on the beach from severe lacerations. Her 26-year-old companion also sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

Livy M. was a well-known synchronized swimmer and had been working as a judge at competitions in recent months. According to Australian media, her friend was also an athlete.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the young people entered the water to capture dolphins with a GoPro camera. At that moment, a large bull shark attacked Livy. Her friend tried to protect her, resulting in his own injury, but he managed to pull her to shore and call for help.

It should be noted that this year, five cases of fatalities from shark attacks have been recorded in Australia.
