
According to the Kazinform agency, citing a Xinhua source, the death toll from Cyclone "Dithwa" in Sri Lanka has risen to 607 people.
The Sri Lankan Center for Disaster Management reports that 214 people are missing, and the total number of affected individuals exceeds 2 million, impacting 586,464 families. As a result of the disaster, 4,164 houses were completely destroyed, and 67,505 sustained partial damage.
Additionally, the Meteorological Department of Sri Lanka has warned that from December 9 to 11, an increase in precipitation is expected in some regions due to the northeast monsoon.
The National Building and Research Organization of the country has also issued a level 3 warning regarding the risk of landslides for several areas in the districts of Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matale, and Nuwara Eliya.
