
During the investigation, authorities discovered that samples of the green mesh used in the construction did not meet fire resistance requirements. The contractors involved in the renovation used these substandard materials in hidden areas, making them difficult to inspect. Additionally, the insulation foam contributed to the rapid spread of the fire, and the fire alarm system in the complex was ineffective.
At the same time, the police continue to search the burned towers, finding the bodies of victims on stairwells and roofs where people were trapped. Currently, more than 40 individuals are listed as missing. The search for remains may take several weeks, with police officer Tsang Shuk-yin stating that some of the missing are unlikely to be found.
