
According to the decree, 220 individuals are fully released from punishment, 123 convicts will be granted parole, and 97 will receive lighter sentences. The prison terms of 175 inmates will be reduced.
The pardon applies to those inmates who acknowledged their guilt, expressed remorse, and showed a desire for rehabilitation. The decree was issued based on the Constitution of Uzbekistan.
Among those pardoned are 9 foreign citizens, 29 women, 23 individuals over 60 years old, as well as 264 young people under 30, including two minors.
Additionally, among the pardoned are nine individuals previously convicted for participating in the activities of banned organizations.
Last year, in honor of Constitution Day, 483 people were pardoned.
