The fifth International Conference on Mongolian Studies titled "Mongolia and Mongols: Past and Present" took place at the University of Warsaw. This event is held every two years by the Faculty of Asian and African Studies.

The conference is organized in collaboration with the Department of Asian and African Cultures at the University of Warsaw, the Embassy of Mongolia in Poland, and the National University of Mongolia. This year, around 70 researchers from more than ten countries are participating in the event, including France, Austria, Hungary, Germany, the United Kingdom, Mongolia, China, the Czech Republic, Brussels, and Estonia.

The keynote speaker at the conference was Academician Chuluun Sampildondov, who serves as the director of the National Museum "Chinggis Khan".

Academician Chuluun showcased unique 17th-century letters written in todo-bichig, which are stored in the archives of the Academy of Sciences and in Krakow. Among them were previously unpublished letters addressed by Galdan Boshogtu Khan to the Russian Tsar. Additionally, he presented his first comparative study with documents from Russian archives.

Researcher Uranbayar Ganbold presented a report on the merits and noble role of Mongolian queens during the era of the Mongol Empire.
