In South Korea, the special prosecutor accused former President Yoon Suk-yeol of provoking aggression from North Korea
The accusations relate to the sending of drones into the airspace of North Korea, which, according to the investigation, was intended to provoke a response from their side. Several drones crashed near Pyongyang. In December 2024, after the imposition of martial law, mass protests began in the country. The parliament, outraged by the decision, voted for its repeal, and the president agreed. Subsequently, impeachment procedures were initiated. A special prosecutor's team, during a six-month investigation, charged 24 individuals, including the former prime minister and five cabinet members. Among them are figures such as former Defense Minister Kim Ye Hyeon and former counterintelligence commander Ye In Hyeon. They are also accused of abuse of power and aiding a potential adversary.
