Mongolia continues to perform successfully at the Asian Road Cycling Championship, winning medals. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.

At the Asian Road Cycling Championship taking place in Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia, Mongolian athletes continue to impress with their results. The first medals for Mongolia at this tournament were won by international master Temuulen Khadbaatar, who finished second in the individual time trial of 24.6 km among juniors under 23 years old, clocking a time of 30 minutes 22.88 seconds. This achievement marked the beginning of Mongolia's medal journey at this championship.


In the men's veterans category (55–59 years), Shinebayar Dangaasuren, an international master, confidently won gold in the 20 km distance, performing the Mongolian anthem on the podium, while his competitor Tumendemberel Surenkhorloo took the bronze medal. The silver medal was awarded to Visut Kasiyaphat from Thailand.

Ankhbayar Gurdorj also won gold in the age category of 65–69 years among men, while Zainul Kasymdzhanov from Kazakhstan and Rinat Batyrshin from Tajikistan took the silver and bronze places, respectively.

Enkh-Od Darjaa finished in fourth place in the 60–64 age category.


Erdenetuyaa Dorjchimedd

In the individual time trial of 15.8 km among women, Erdenetuyaa Dorjchimedd finished third in the 45–49 age category, winning the bronze medal. The gold award went to Olga Zabelinskaya from Uzbekistan, while the silver went to Zainab Rizvan from Pakistan.


Thus, Shinebayar Dangaasuren became a two-time Asian champion, while Ankhbayar Gurdorj won his eighth gold medal in his career at the Asian Championships. Tumendemberel Surenkhorloo now has three medals at the Asian Championships, and Erdenetuyaa Dorjchimedd has received two medals.

At the 2026 Asian Road Cycling Championship, Mongolia will be represented by 23 athletes competing in seven age categories. The competitions will conclude on February 13.
