Countries that joined Trump's World Council have committed to allocate more than five billion dollars for the reconstruction of Gaza

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the countries that joined his initiative—the World Council—plan to allocate over five billion dollars for humanitarian needs and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. This statement was made in his post on the Truth Social platform.

At a meeting scheduled for February 19, 2026, at the Donald J. Trump Peace Institute in Washington, Trump stated that the Council members committed not only to allocate the specified amount but also to send thousands of specialists to the International Stabilization Forces and local law enforcement agencies to ensure security in Gaza.

In his post, Trump did not specify which countries would finance this aid and in what proportions. He also noted that the World Council would be "the most significant international body in history," adding that he is "honored to be its chairman."

The World Council was initially planned as a structure to manage the Gaza Strip after the conflict in accordance with Trump's peace plan. However, it soon became clear that the U.S. president envisions much broader powers for this body on the international stage.

On January 22, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump signed the charter of the World Council, where he became its chairman. Each country interested in lifetime membership was invited to contribute one billion dollars. The signing ceremony was attended by leaders of other states that joined the Council, primarily from the Middle East and South America, as well as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, along with the presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Russia also received an invitation but has not yet confirmed its participation. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed readiness to allocate one billion dollars from frozen Russian assets in the U.S. to the Council, even before the membership issue is resolved, taking into account "Russia's special relationship with the Palestinian people."
