In his post on the Truth Social platform, Trump noted: "We are going to send a large hospital ship to Greenland to assist many sick people who lack necessary medical services. It is already on the way."

According to Reuters, this statement was made before a dinner with Republican governors at the White House, where Trump was accompanied by Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry. At the same time, neither the White House nor Landry's office provided comments regarding the information about the ship.

It is worth noting that the U.S. Navy has two medical ships - Mercy and Comfort, but neither of them is stationed in Louisiana.

Additionally, shortly before Trump's statement, the Danish Joint Arctic Command reported the need to evacuate a sailor from an American submarine off the coast of Greenland; however, the connection of this situation to U.S. plans is not specified.

It should also be reminded that Trump had previously expressed a desire for the U.S. to establish control over Greenland, emphasizing its strategic importance and the need to counter Russia and China in the Arctic. In January, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, he stated his intention to address this issue through negotiations.
