Four Mongolian athletes will represent the country at the XIV Winter Paralympic Games

The XIV Winter Paralympic Games will kick off in Milan and Cortina, Italy, in 10 days.

Four athletes will represent our country in three sports. Ganbold Batmunkh and Dashdorj Tsegmid will participate in men's cross-country skiing events at distances of 10 and 20 kilometers. Tserenpuntsag Biyambadorj will compete in alpine skiing, while Selenge Adiyaamunkh will participate in women's cross-country skiing. According to MiddleAsianNews, the athletes are already in training.

Currently, training is taking place at the Baga Bayan sports complex, which is managed by the Ministry of Defense.

The Mongolian team made its debut at the Paralympic Games in 2006 in Turin, and this will be the sixth time our athletes participate in the Winter Paralympic Games.

Selenge will compete in her first Paralympic Games, while Dashdorj and Tserenpuntsag already have experience, and Ganbold is representing the country for the fourth time.

Selenge became the first woman from Mongolia to qualify for the Paralympic Games, winning bronze at the Asian Cup in Japan this year. The gold in this tournament went to Chinese skier Shang Yilin, and the silver to Japanese athlete Sato Nana.

The XIV Winter Paralympic Games will start on March 6 and will last for nine days. A total of 665 athletes will participate in these competitions, competing for 79 sets of medals in six disciplines. The opening ceremony will take place at the Verona Arena (Arena di Verona), an ancient Roman amphitheater in Verona.
