As part of this operation, it is planned to return 467 citizens from the capital of Oman today, and tomorrow another 343 people from Jeddah, Bakayev reported. He noted that these are citizens located in the UAE and Qatar, who will be evacuated through neighboring countries. First of all, the first group of buses has already departed from Dubai to Oman, and by the end of the day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects to return 467 Kazakhstanis. The second stage involves transporting citizens from Qatar to Saudi Arabia, from where they will be transferred to Jeddah.
“Our airlines will operate flights from Jeddah back to Kazakhstan,” the deputy minister added.
In addition, Bakayev reported that the day before, 17 citizens of Kazakhstan were evacuated through Turkmenistan from northern Iran. “The Turkmen authorities agreed to this process, our citizens successfully crossed the border and are now heading to Kazakhstan,” he clarified.
Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev also noted that currently about 5,000 Kazakhstanis are in the Middle East. He reported on the formation of flights heading to various destinations, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey. “If additional flights are organized, they will also be directed to Saudi Arabia and then through Pakistan to Kazakhstan,” Sauranbayev explained.
For his part, Deputy Transport Minister Talgat Lastayev added that the first two flights of Fly Dubai have already taken place, through which 306 Kazakhstanis returned to Astana and Almaty.
Airlines Air Astana and ScatCAT have also prepared six aircraft ready to take off immediately after the airspace is opened.
