Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan discussed the development of parliamentary relations
Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev, met with the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan, Latif Gandiyev. During the meeting, issues related to the development of political, economic, and cultural cooperation, as well as strengthening inter-parliamentary relations, were discussed.

According to the parliament's press service, special attention was paid to activating cooperation between the Jogorku Kenesh and the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, including the work of relevant committees and friendship groups.

Marlen Mamataliyev emphasized that deepening relations with Azerbaijan is a priority direction of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy. He noted that good relations between the heads of state contribute to the development of political dialogue and cooperation in various fields.

The Chairman also highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy for strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries and expressed the readiness of the Jogorku Kenesh for active cooperation with the Milli Majlis.

He also spoke about joint projects being implemented through the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund, noting that the authorized capital of the fund has been increased to 100 million dollars. These funds will be directed towards the implementation of major projects without interest.

In addition, the prospects for cooperation in trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as the interaction of the parliaments of the two countries within the framework of international organizations, were discussed.
