The funeral of Ali Larijani, who served as the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, will take place today in Tehran, as reported by the Fars agency. On the same day, a farewell will be held for Gholamreza Soleimani, the commander of the "Basij," and the sailors who died on the American ship "Dena."

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed his condolences regarding Larijani's passing, noting that he feels "deep sorrow and regret" about this.

“I have never encountered anything from him other than kindness, insight, camaraderie, and foresight... This loss will undoubtedly be difficult to compensate for,” Pezeshkian said, also highlighting the significance of Larijani's many years of service and emphasizing that the country will continue to follow its path of defiance.

On the night of March 18, Larijani's office confirmed his death. According to the Tasnim agency, one of his sons and the head of his security service also died with him. The Israeli Ministry of Defense reports that they fell victim to an attack by the IDF.

In response to Larijani's death, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced large-scale strikes against Israel. The IRGC claimed to have hit more than 100 targets in Tel Aviv, including military facilities, and assessed enemy losses at over 230 people. The strikes also affected Jerusalem, Haifa, Be'er Sheva, and the Negev Desert. Additionally, American military bases in countries such as Qatar, Bahrain, the UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia were attacked.
