Mongolia and Turkmenistan held a videoconference for the first time, dedicated to inter-parliamentary dialogue between friendship groups.
On March 30, Gankhuleg Munguntsog, a member of the Great State Khural of Mongolia and head of the Mongolia-Turkmenistan parliamentary group, conducted a video call with the chairman and members of the parliamentary group of Turkmenistan in the Mejlis. At the beginning of the meeting, Gankhuleg Munguntsog introduced the participants and emphasized that since 1992, cooperation between the two countries has been actively developing in various fields. He also noted that the results of mutual visits by state leaders have contributed to strengthening the legal framework of bilateral relations and activating negotiations on trade and economic issues.

During the visit of Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdymukhamedov to Mongolia in June last year, 14 intergovernmental agreements were signed aimed at activating cooperation in trade, economy, medicine, and culture. He highlighted the importance of strengthening ties between parliamentary groups and standing committees for the successful implementation of these agreements. Gankhuleg Munguntsog also added that Mongolia focuses on increasing the export of non-raw materials and creating a suitable legal environment, as well as emphasized initiatives for developing cooperation in agriculture and light industry using the resources of both countries.
This meeting represents an important step in implementing the agreements reached at the highest level. During the discussions, the parliamentarians agreed to expand interaction between the relevant committees and to strengthen ties between young deputies and women parliamentarians.
Additionally, during the negotiations, opportunities for supporting economic cooperation were discussed, with parliamentary diplomacy recognized as an important tool for developing business relations between the two states.
As a result of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue dialogue and develop cooperation in various areas.
