On April 6, Speaker Biyambatsogt Sandag held a meeting with the chairpersons of five parliamentary parties.
Among the participants were Prime Minister and Chairman of the Mongolian People's Party Uchral Nyam-Osor, Chairman of the Democratic Party Tsogtgerel Odon, Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of the National Coalition Nomtoibayar Nyamtayshir, Chairman of the Parliamentary Council of the MPP Ganzorig Purevjav, and Chairman of the Civil Will - Green Party Batbaatar Bat.
At the beginning of the meeting, Biyambatsogt emphasized the importance of consensus in the work of the parliament, noting that any decisions should reflect the interests of all five parties represented in the Great State Khural (GSK). He highlighted the need for cooperation to achieve common national interests in the current complex global conditions.
The Speaker also stated his intention to continue efforts to enhance the openness and transparency of the parliament's work by utilizing modern technologies. In the coming week, he plans to present draft amendments to several key laws concerning the work of the GSK.
In addition, the Speaker expressed a desire to work together with party leaders to stimulate the activity of parliamentarians and introduce restrictions on absenteeism. The party chairpersons supported Biyambatsogt's initiatives aimed at strengthening parliamentary democracy and uniting efforts for the common good, while discussing current socio-economic issues.
