The incident occurred on December 11 in the village of Koy-Tash, located in the Chui region. The unknown individuals, who identified themselves as law enforcement officers, detained Tenizbay right outside his home. They also took his mother's mobile phone.
According to sources from the publication, the activist was taken to the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), but this government agency has not yet provided any comments regarding his detention.
As reported by the publication, Aibek Tenizbay had been actively criticizing the authorities on social media and posting against Russian propaganda in Kyrgyzstan. Additionally, he shared his opinions on the country's political events through the media.
