At least 13 people died in the collapse of a gold mining mine in Sudan
As a result of the collapse of a gold mining mine in Sudan, at least 13 people have died.

The incident occurred in the southern part of the country, in the South Kordofan state, as reported by the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, which oversees the mining industry.

According to information posted on the company's official Facebook page, the collapse happened in the area of the "Um-Fakrun" mine in the settlement of Abu Jubaiha, where five abandoned mine shafts collapsed.

Currently, several miners are still reported missing.

It should be noted that a group of people entered the closed area to engage in illegal mining activities. As a result of their actions, the supporting structures of the mines were damaged, which led to the collapse.
