In Bishkek courts, over 2,700 criminal cases were reviewed in 2025

The senior prosecutor of the Bishkek city prosecutor's office, Erlan Bekbolotov, informed the editorial office of "AKIpress Digest" that during 2025, the district courts of the capital reviewed 2,705 criminal cases involving 3,493 individuals.

According to the prosecutor's office, this is 197 cases more than in 2024. Prosecutors acted as state prosecutors at all levels of the judicial process, ensuring compliance with legality and justice throughout the proceedings.

Of the total number of cases:

- Convictions were handed down in 1,419 cases (52.5%) against 1,854 individuals;

- 1,080 cases (39.9%) were terminated;

- 67 cases resulted in acquittals for 98 defendants.

Bekbolotov also noted that the number of acquittals decreased compared to 2024 — by 14 cases and 36 individuals.

In appellate and cassation instances, prosecutors checked the legality of the decisions made and submitted motions regarding unjustified judicial acts, seeking their revision or cancellation when necessary.

Particular attention was paid to cases involving minors. During the reporting period, the district courts of Bishkek reviewed 84 criminal cases concerning 132 minors. In these cases, the state prosecution was conducted with an emphasis on protecting the rights and legitimate interests of children.
