The official managed to spend 2.2 million soms
During the investigation, the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) uncovered a scheme related to corruption and the illegal transfer of land plots into private ownership. This was reported by the committee's press service.
The head of the Kara-Kul city architecture and construction department, U. B., has become a figure in the case.
According to the investigation, in 2021, when U. B. was working as the chief specialist of the urban planning and architecture department of the Uzgen district in the Osh region, he received 2 million soms from a citizen, M. D., for allocating four land plots of 7 acres each in the territory of the Bash-Debe rural administration. U. B. promised the woman to informally resolve all necessary issues and later received another 200 thousand soms, which were allegedly intended for the preparation of state acts and land registration.
However, the official did not manage to complete the process of transferring the plots due to the active anti-corruption campaign that began in the country. He spent the received funds on personal needs.
On February 4, U. B. was arrested as part of a criminal case on charges of "Fraud using official position."
