A land issues specialist, M.U., was detained in the Chui region on charges of fraud amounting to 375,000 soms. This was reported by the press service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs.
According to law enforcement agencies, on August 18, a woman named K.R. approached the police. She reported that in February 2024, M.U., while working in one of the rural administrations, promised to help with the paperwork for her land plot and took 375,000 soms from her son. However, he did not fulfill his obligations, did not return the money, and avoided communication.
In connection with this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic ("Fraud").
During the investigation, it was revealed that M.U. had previously held the position of a specialist in land and agricultural issues in the rural administration of the Alamudun district, and at the time of his detention, he was working in one of the rural administrations of the Issyk-Ata district.
On November 19, 2025, he was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. The court decided to arrest him.
The investigation is ongoing.
