A man suspected of stealing a car has been detained in Bishkek, and the vehicle has been returned to its rightful owner. This was reported by the press service of the First May District Department of Internal Affairs.
According to the information provided, on October 9, 2025, a citizen named D.B. contacted law enforcement.
He reported that on October 5, 2025, at 6:00 PM, he left his "KIA PIKANTO" parked near his home on Togolok-Moldo Street and then went to Karakol. Upon returning on October 9, he discovered that the car was missing.
As a result, a criminal case was initiated under Article 211 (theft) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During operational-search activities, a 39-year-old man, Zh.B., was detained and is now in custody at a temporary detention facility.
The investigation revealed that the detainee unlawfully took possession of the vehicle, sold it for 80,000 soms, and spent the money on his needs.
Currently, the car has been found and included as physical evidence in the criminal case. The police continue their investigation to determine if there are other individuals involved in this crime and are also checking for possible connections between the detainee and other similar cases.
