At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Burun Amanova reported on the increasing number of cases where young Kyrgyz citizens in Russia find themselves under criminal prosecution for drug trafficking, of which they were not even aware.

According to Amanova, citizens are misled, leading to their detention and legal proceedings. "This raises serious concerns," she noted.

In particular, the deputy cited a request from a resident of the Kadamjai district, A.O., who reported that a girl born in 2001 is currently serving a sentence in one of the Russian prisons. She called for consideration of her transfer to Kyrgyzstan.

Amanova also emphasized the importance of analyzing the reasons why Kyrgyz citizens are serving sentences in Russian institutions and possible ways for their repatriation to their homeland.
