The Spiritual Administration of Muslims calls on citizens to remain calm
Due to the worsening situation in the Middle Eastern region, flights intended for performing Umrah have been suspended, creating force majeure conditions. This is stated in the official statement of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (DUMK).
DUMK has appealed to those citizens who are currently in Mecca and Medina for the minor pilgrimage, urging them to be patient and follow the instructions of their travel agencies and group leaders.
“We urge you not to panic and to remain calm until the situation stabilizes and flights are resumed. Citizens planning to travel for Umrah should closely monitor the news and plan their trips only after the situation in the region normalizes,” the statement reads.
The document also indicates that the government has created a temporary interagency headquarters and is taking necessary measures to return citizens of Kyrgyzstan to their homeland.
