During the investigation of corruption cases in state institutions, facts of embezzlement and misappropriation of budget funds were discovered, involving B.P. — the former branch manager, and N.M. — the chief accountant. Investigative authorities believe that the perpetrators, taking advantage of their official position, may have embezzled 5 million 213 thousand 900 soms.
It has been established that for nine months, the central office of "Kyrgyz Post" transferred money to the account of the Leylek branch for the purchase of furniture, plastic windows, and updating computer equipment. However, these purchases were not made, and the repair work was not carried out.
In addition, the detainees paid employees inflated salaries, after which they asked to return the excess in cash, citing technical errors.
Both individuals involved in the case are charged under Article 210, Part 4, Clause 2 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning the embezzlement or misappropriation of entrusted property. The court has decided to place them in custody, and they have been placed in a pre-trial detention center.
