GIK announced the contractor's intention to address the identified issues
A recent incident in a multi-story building of the State Mortgage Company in Bishkek ended with a tile falling and nearly hitting a young man.
Witnesses to the incident were residents of building No. 6 on Malikova Street, who shared a video of the event.
They also recalled a previous case when a man was injured due to an elevator falling in a neighboring building. At that time, the company responsible for the elevator installation provided its explanations.
The press service of GIK reported that the contractor will rectify the violations and conduct an inspection of the elevator conditions in each block.
"We are financing the project but are not involved in construction. We hired a contractor and made comments. The company will address the identified deficiencies and check all delivered blocks for similar issues," GIK stated.
Later, the Presidential Administration clarified that the work was carried out by the company that installed the elevators, which engaged a subcontractor for the cladding work. Thus, the responsibility lies with the elevator installation company.
They were given a notice, and they committed to correcting the deficiencies and conducting an inspection of all residential blocks where their elevators are installed.
