On the morning of March 16, Dubai International Airport (DXB) announced a temporary suspension of flights. Authorities in the emirate reported that the reason for this was a fire caused by an "incident involving a drone" in the vicinity of the airport. It was later revealed that one of the fuel tanks had caught fire.
As a result of the incident, no one was injured; however, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority decided to temporarily halt flights at the airport as a "precautionary measure." Passengers are advised to contact their airlines for information regarding their flights. Additionally, Dubai police temporarily closed the roads leading to the airport.
