The investigative service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is conducting an investigation into a criminal case under Article 336 ("Corruption") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. This became possible after the publication of the GNS report "Oil for Themselves: How Kyrgyzneftegaz Was Ruined," which reveals possible violations by officials of OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz."
The agency emphasized that Taimuras Tashiev has not yet been interrogated in connection with this case.
Taimuras is one of the sons of Kamchybek Tashiev, who previously held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Chairman of the State National Security Committee, but was relieved of his duties on February 10.
