The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has initiated a criminal case regarding corruption at OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz," as reported in the agency's press release.

Previously, the State Tax Service under the Cabinet of Ministers published a video report titled "Oil for Ours: How Kyrgyzneftegaz Was Ruined," which contains information about possible unlawful actions by the company's employees.

According to available materials, employees of OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz," using their official powers, in collaboration with affiliated companies, created illegal schemes for the implementation and sale of fuel and lubricants.

During the investigation, the MIA found that officials, recognizing the strategic importance of OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz," which is fully state-owned, and their responsibilities to ensure its effective operation in the interests of society, acted contrary to these obligations.

"Against the backdrop of rising fuel prices in the country, instead of taking measures to stabilize the situation, they entered into preliminary collusion with unidentified representatives of state bodies controlling this sector. As a result, favorable conditions were created for certain affiliated companies to operate, allowing them to derive illegal profits, including through tax evasion and other mandatory payments," the MIA's statement noted.

In connection with this case, the Investigative Service of the MIA has opened a criminal case under Article 336 ("Corruption") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

"Currently, necessary investigative actions are being conducted with the participation of specialists from the State Tax Service to comprehensively and objectively investigate the circumstances of the case, as well as to identify and hold accountable those responsible," the MIA added.
