As a result of fraudulent actions, the state suffered damages amounting to 36 million soms over five years
Within the framework of a criminal case under Article 336, Part 1 ("Corruption") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the GKNB uncovered corruption schemes operating in the Republican Blood Center of the Ministry of Health. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
It became known that the former director of the RBC, K.B.B., born in 1972, held the position from 2012 until August 2025. In 2020, he conspired with the head of the private company OsOO "M" to illegally siphon off significant budget funds. As a result, expensive medical equipment was installed at the center, such as the Cobas S201 PCR laboratory and the ARCHITECT Plus and ABBOTT IHL laboratories.
After the equipment was installed, K.B.B. signed a contract with OsOO "M" for the supply of reagents for the PCR and IHL laboratories, supplying them at inflated prices over five years. Part of the money was transferred back to the RBC director as a "kickback."
An audit of the financial operations of the RBC from 2020 to 2025 revealed that the actions of K.B.B. and OsOO "M" caused the state damages amounting to 36 million soms.
On March 5, 2026, K.B.B. was placed in custody in the GKNB detention center. A legal assessment will be conducted regarding the head of OsOO "M" during the investigative actions.
Currently, operational and investigative activities are ongoing to identify other officials involved in this corruption scheme.
