In 2019, the municipal enterprise "Taza suu" signed a contract with LLC "P." for 349.7 thousand euros for the supply and installation of 6 thousand water meters. This contract covered all stages—from the supply of equipment to its commissioning.
However, during the inspection, it was found that many meters were not functioning, and 580 of them were missing. Polyethylene pipes were purchased at a price of 35 euros (approximately 3,500 soms) per meter, although their actual cost did not exceed 15 soms.
Furthermore, after the warranty period ended, the contractor was returned the warranty amounts without proper quality checks of the completed work. Since 2022, residents continued to pay for water at the old rates based on the number of residents, despite promises to implement a new accounting system.
