Officials created a corruption scheme by illegally providing lands from the forest fund
In the Talas region, the akim of the Bakai-Ata district, A.B.M., and the director of the Talas forestry, A.N.Dzh., as well as several other public officials, were detained. This information was reported by the press center of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
As a result of the conducted investigation, the agency's employees identified serious violations of legislation by akim A.B.M., who previously headed the Talas regional department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, as well as by director A.N.Dzh. and other officials. These individuals conspired from 2022 to 2023 to organize a corruption scheme aimed at the illegal provision of land plots for recreational purposes. The plots, located along the central highway, were allocated to private individuals: M.N.I. (3.2 ha), K.u.Ch. (3 ha), A.G.A. (2 ha, spouse of the akim), and S.M.T. (1.2 ha). Recreation areas were built on these lands.
The issuance of these plots occurred without proper assessment and payment for forest losses, without conducting a state ecological examination, and without registration in cadastral authorities and architectural services.
As a result of these actions, the state suffered damages of more than 23 million soms solely from evasion of payment for forest losses. Additionally, akim A.B.M., in 2024, violating his official duties, allowed the cutting down of 475 "pyramidal poplar" trees in the Bakai-Ata district, acting in collusion with former deputy of the Ak-Dobo rural district, S.I.A., and the former head of the same rural district, B.O.Dzh. The damage from this activity amounted to 5 million 310 thousand 505 soms.
Currently, the detained A.B.M. and A.N.Dzh. are in the temporary detention facility of the Talas Internal Affairs Department. Further investigation is underway to identify other participants in the corruption scheme.
