The GKNB announced a corruption scheme in the Ministry of Health's blood center. A former official has been detained.

According to the press service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB KR), the detention of the former director of the Republican Blood Center occurred as part of an investigation into a criminal case under Article 336, Part 1 "Corruption." This former official, K. B. B., held his position from 2012 until August 2025. In 2020, he conspired with the head of the private company LLC "M." to organize the installation of expensive medical equipment in the center, including the PCR laboratories Cobas S201 and ARCHITECT Plus from ABBOTT.

After that, a contract was signed with LLC "M." for the supply of reagents for these laboratories at inflated prices, which allowed him to receive kickbacks.

As a result of the audit of the financial activities of the RBC for the period from 2020 to 2025, it was established that the damage caused by the actions of the former director and the supplier LLC "M." amounted to 36 million soms.
