On the night of March 26 to 27, heavy rains hit the United Arab Emirates, flooding roads in Dubai. Police and municipal services began pumping out water and assisting with the evacuation of vehicles before dawn, reports Euronews.

As a result, the rains flooded intersections, auxiliary roads, and underground interchanges, leading to blockages for drivers, many of whom were forced to leave their cars. Journalists emphasize that the flooding highlighted the vulnerability of low-lying sections of urban highways during heavy precipitation. Social media users are sharing impressive videos of the aftermath of the bad weather.

The UAE authorities had previously warned about the approaching bad weather, issuing storm alerts. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue in certain areas of the country, and Dubai airport administration has warned passengers about possible flight delays.

Local experts and meteorologists believe that such weather phenomena remain rare for Dubai; however, they are becoming increasingly frequent and pose a serious challenge for residents and city services.
