On November 3, the Osh region hosted a delegation from the Chinese province of Gansu for a working visit, during which a meeting between the two sides took place.
The Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan in the Osh region, Iliyas Tashbaev, and the Deputy Chairman of the People's Political Consultative Conference of Gansu, He Weiping, participated in the negotiations.
The main topics of discussion included the prospects for further strengthening cooperation between the Osh region and Gansu, including the development of trade, economic, and cultural ties.
Iliyas Tashbaev mentioned that relations between the regions began in 2013, and since then, there has been active development in the fields of education, healthcare, and humanitarian cooperation. He also expressed gratitude to Gansu for the humanitarian aid provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The parties also discussed projects related to the "China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan" railway, the creation of logistics centers, and cooperation in areas such as agriculture, processing, tourism, education, and cultural exchange.
Issues regarding the increasing presence of Chinese capital in the Osh region and the possibilities for launching new investment projects were also discussed.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to develop a "roadmap" to enhance the level of cooperation, covering trade, investment, tourism, agriculture, and education.
