Problems with traffic jams on the mountain routes of the country are largely related to the fact that vehicles are not prepared for winter conditions. This was reported on the air of "Birinchi Radio" by Narmanbet Myktyraliev, the chief specialist of the state enterprise "Kyrgyzavtozhol-North".

He noted that many truck drivers do not take the necessary measures to prepare for the winter season, including changing tires and having anti-skid chains. This leads to traffic jams in the passes, especially during worsening weather, which complicates the work of special equipment responsible for clearing the road surfaces.

“We prepare inert materials in advance for road filling during the autumn-winter period and carry out repairs on our road maintenance equipment. For example, at the Too-Ashuu pass, snow has been falling since autumn, and duty shifts have been organized in that area. Currently, there are no traffic jams or restrictions there,” added Myktyraliev.

It was previously reported that dozens of passenger cars were caught in a snowdrift at Issyk-Kul.
