At the opening ceremony of the restored building of the Kyrgyz Cotton Station, located in the village of Bolshevik in the Kara-Suu district, the Minister of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev, who is acting as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, was present.

According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture, this station, founded in 1926-1927, plays an important role as a scientific center engaged in the selection of varieties and the improvement of technologies in agronomy.

For the major renovation and modernization of the station, 33 million soms were allocated according to the directive of President Sadyr Japarov. The updated three-story building, with an area of 1,788 square meters, will serve as the regional representation of the ministry for farmers from Batken, Osh, and Jalal-Abad regions, ensuring the integration of specialized services and creating modern conditions for scientific activities.

A Farmers' Service Center was also opened in the new building, where agrarians can receive consultations on current issues and problems.

Minister Bakyt Torobaev emphasized the importance of forming a new image of the modern Kyrgyz farmer, who should be educated, technologically savvy, and focused on agribusiness, noting that the ministry will intensify its work in this direction.
