She unexpectedly passed away at the age of 77. The funeral is scheduled for today in Cholpon-Ata.

The investigative authorities charged Maya Aliyeva with the legalization of criminal proceeds under the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The first-instance court found her guilty and sentenced her to seven years in prison to be served in a general regime colony, with a one-year probation period delay.
