According to the press service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, on June 10, 2025, police major T.K.A. was detained, who held the position of head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Security Service in the Kadamjai district.
During the investigation conducted by the State Committee and the Internal Investigations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was revealed that the detainee regularly extorted amounts ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 soms from his subordinates every month, using funds allocated for overtime work, as well as part of the basic salary.
During joint operations with the Department of Internal Affairs of the Batken region, T.K.A. was caught during another attempt to collect funds amounting to 95,000 soms. The police major was placed in the temporary detention facility of the State Committee for National Security in the Batken region.
On September 11, 2025, the Kadamjai district court found T.K.A. guilty under Article 343, Part 2, Clause 1 ("Extortion of a bribe in a large amount") and sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property and a ban on holding managerial positions, to be served in a general regime colony.
The court decided that the time spent in custody from June 6, 2025, until the moment the sentence comes into legal force will be counted as 1=2 days of imprisonment. The term of serving the sentence begins on June 6, 2025.
On November 3, 2025, the judicial panel of the Batken regional court confirmed the district court's decision.
Currently, a cassation appeal has been submitted to the Supreme Court by the lawyer, demanding the annulment of the decisions of the Kadamjai district court and the Batken regional court, as well as to send the case for a new trial in the first instance.
Additionally, another cassation appeal has been submitted by another lawyer with similar demands.
The materials of the case have been accepted for consideration by the Supreme Court.
